Our client, an internationally operating exploration and production (E&P) company for natural gas and crude oil, have a requirement for an experience HPHT Senior Drilling Engineer to be based over several European locations within a contract/consultant position.

This position will be required to develop designs and various planning and execution phase elements in accordance with well objectives, company policies and procedures, ensuring the activities related to the Exploration Well will be conducted in a safe and environmental acceptable

manner, will be delivered within time and budget and will meet the requirements of in country legislation.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Establish work packages/work breakdown structure incl. timing to be used for the project schedule

- Review subsurface well planning input, prepare well offset data summaries and develop well design philosophies

- Prepare preliminary and final well design incl. contingency as well as well abandonment / suspension in accordance with company policies, standards and procedures

- Prepare relevant documents (for example basis of design, well time & cost estimates, casing design, well budget, relief well planning, drilling & abandonment programmes, etc.)

- Prepare and conduct relevant work process activities including peer assists & reviews, risk assessments, drilling the well on paper, etc.

- Support preparation of detailed operational procedures for all well activities

- Follow well site activities and provide support to company onshore personnel incl. Drilling Superintendent

- Liaise with all company internal services and relevant service providers

- Support Management of Change process as required

- Participate in operational off hours duty system if required and deputise for Drilling Superintendent

- Prepare technical related part with regards to materials and services tender processes (strategies, scope of work, technical specification, etc.) and review/ evaluate tender proposals

- Support the rig intake process including rig acceptance

- Provide support for cost tracking and invoice verification

- Support preparation of governmental submissions required for well construction and liaise with in country authorities as required

- Ensure end of well reports are completed and submitted

- Review lessons learned and incorporate them into company reporting system

- Close out non-planned time occurrences

- Ensure final well costs are accurate and complete

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Extensive industry experience in this position including

(HPHT) Senior Drilling Engineer experience.

- Holds relevant formal training certificates including well control, health and offshore survival

- Strong experience in planning and execution of HPHT wells and a thorough understanding of the issues associated with offshore HPHT well design and operations

- Strong understanding of HSE rules and expectations including risk evaluation / assessment incl. extensive experience in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks associated with offshore HPHT drilling operations

- In-depth understanding of offshore HPHT pore pressure / fracture gradient related issues and detailed knowledge of associated engineering process as well as current state of the art technologies (for example managed pressure drilling) and procedures for use in offshore HPHT well design and operations

- Good contract development and administration skills

- Team player with strong communication and presentation skills
