Senior Drilling Engineer


Are you a highly skilled and experienced Drilling Engineer with a passion for the oil and gas industry? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team in London, UK.

The right to work in the UK independently is required.


As a Senior Drilling Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and modifying existing well and casing designs, as well as reviewing and validating existing well drilling and completion plans. You will also be responsible for preparing rig specifications and preparing SOWs (Statements of Work) for rig tenders.


Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Preparing/Validating SOWs for wellheads, casing and accessories and drilling services for tenders
  • Validating wellpad designs
  • Preparing BOWD (Borehole Wellbore Design) documents
  • Preparing detailed well trajectories from well pads taking into account the subsurface targets and anti-collision thresholds
  • Evaluating tenders and estimating detailed well costs
  • Value engineering for cost optimisation
  • Validating design and drilling and completions schedule
  • Preparing SOWs for rig, services and tangibles
  • Preparing BOWD documents
  • Tender evaluation and finalising well costs

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10-15 years of experience in Oil & Gas well engineering and operations in exploration and development drilling, with sufficient experience in drilling onshore wells
  • Well-design and casing design
  • Project planning and execution of drilling programs
  • Tendering and contracts management
  • Well control certifications
  • Proficiency in well engineering softwares such as Wellcat, Well Plan, Compass, or equivalent
  • Well Integrity Management systems and standard operating procedures for drilling, completion, and workover operations.
