Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Contracts Advisor, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Develop appropriate strategies and conduct tender processes in order to establish high value third party service contracts.
* Ensure that contracts and purchasing activity effectively contributes to the profitability of the operation in addressing risk and value in all third-party service contracts.
* Ensure that each third-party service contract is executed in accordance with the highest standard of ethics and in compliance with company and statutory requirements.
* Ensure that all contracted third party activity is in full compliance with company requirements with respect to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
* Promote commercial awareness with operational and user groups to obtain early involvement in the procurement process.
* Lead the development of Supply Chain Action Plans to comply with NSTA requirements.
* Undertake tendering and contract negotiation exercises for third party contracted requirements to ensure procedural compliance and the commercial and legal integrity of the company is maintained.
* Manage post award management of third-party service contracts, including the development and evaluation of Key Performance Indicators to measure contractor performance.
* Maintain excellent communications with both internal users and third-party contracting organisations.
* Responsible for managing business relationships with key contractors and suppliers.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Effective communication skills and active participate in a multi-discipline team
* Significant experience in an oil and gas contract's role, preferably with operator experience.
* Experience of tender, award and management of contracts for a range of scopes, including Duty Holder, Drilling and Well Services and Decommissioning contracts.
* Demonstrate significant contractual and commercial acumen along with good negotiations skills.
* Familiar with North Sea contracting forms (eg LOGIC).
* Relevant degree (Law, QS, Business Studies or similar) or qualified by experience.
* Effective interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communications.
* Capable of working on own initiative with limited supervision.
* Computer literate - working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages essential.
* Highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency to get the job done
