We are seeking a Senior Civil Construction Director to oversee the delivery, co-ordination & management of all Civil Construction works.

This responsibility extends to all civil construction and related activities including surveillance, logistics, planning and implementation in collaboration with the site wide logistics team, commercial management, reporting both internally and externally, programming and planning, monitoring and close out of authorities, obligations and conditions, client liaison, and staff management.

This role will have a number of direct reports, who will input into site wide management issues. A high level of interaction and co-ordination with other operational leads of the site wide team will be required.

In addition the role will be required to adhere to (and suggest enhancements and improvements to) company policies, procedures and protocols for construction, procurement, health & safety, quality and other functions.

* Degree educated, ideally in engineering or a related subject (Chartered or equivalent preferred)

* PMQ (APMP) formal Project Management qualification or equivalent

* Significant Experience in Tunneling, Bridge Works, Marine, Earthworks

* Experience of working on large volume high quality RC Structures

* Nuclear experience, working within a regulated, licensed environment

* Extensive working knowledge in the successful delivery of large complex projects - £1BN scope

* Ability to build and manage a diverse and high performing team

* Excellent organisational and communication skills

* Management of strategic planning, forecasting

* Good working knowledge of commercial principles affecting construction matters

* Awareness of Health and Safety and Environment legislation including CDM and the actions required to achieve compliance along with a proven track record of working within highly regulated environments with high safety standards and culture

* Good understanding of the needs of quality and how quality is assured and controlled

* Relevant experience of commercial, contractual and financial project drivers

* Ability to produce informative, concise reports

* Motivational approach and the ability to energise team members by building a climate of trust and understanding

* Experience of operating in a high security environment

* Proficient user of MS Office
