Senior Buyer

Location - Perth


Salary - £32,000 - £35,000 per annum

Our client, a successful and expanding manufacturing business is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Buyer for their facility based in Perth.

Candidate profile:

  • Have a proven Procurement background within a manufacturing environment
  • Be experienced in stores' management and implementing stock control processes
  • Have the ability to build and maintain a variety of constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Have excellent negotiation and analytical skills with good attention to detail
  • Be qualified or actively studying towards CIPS qualification
  • Experience of ERP systems

Job Summary:

  • Working closely with other relevant departments to plan, direct, and monitor all sourcing activities, so that the goods, materials, supplies, and services the company buys meet its standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
  • Reviewing current and historical spend activity to identify key areas of spend, main suppliers and opportunities for supplier rationalisation and continuous improvement
  • Seeking continuous improvement in own performance, team, and suppliers.
  • Negotiate keen competitive prices often against a background of demanding target savings and sole source suppliers
  • Negotiate Contract Terms and Conditions both for materials and services
  • Supply chain risk assessments to be carried out on potential suppliers
  • This role will lead a team of 1 Purchasing Assistant, 2 Stores personnel and 1 Administrator.
