Job Title - Senior Authorised Person

Location: Inverness

About the role:

The role will be to plan, design, organise, control and monitor all types of construction and maintenance work on LV/HV networks up to 33kV and associated plant and equipment, including complex design, commissioning and fault diagnosis in accordance with safety and customer requirements, ensuring that all works are completed to time and budget.

The Senior Authorised Person (SAP), will be passionate about safety and will promote this throughout the team and to all Contractors on site, comfortably challenging any unsafe behaviours or attitudes. Strong communication skills required, with the ability to deliver technical training and advice to less-experienced colleagues. People-management skills required to effectively achieve results from the team of direct and indirect labour, as well as Contractors. A need to develop relationships with potential customers in order to secure profitable HV contracting business.

Requirements:

An experienced SAP on HV systems, ideally with Company Operational Authorisation to 33kV OHL & UG with Sanction for Test and have a good knowledge of a wide range of High Voltage plant and equipment.

Familiar with private HV and Distribution Networks, combined with a good working knowledge of High Voltage Protection Relays, Telecontrol Systems, wiring and schematic diagrams.

Proven track record in the electrical contracting industry either as an Engineer or as a Contracts Supervisor with supervisory experience in a practical environment.

A minimum HNC qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering and be in possession of an IOSH (Institution of Safety and Health) Managing Safely certificate (or equivalent).

A full UK driving licence is also essential to cover the network area.
