Orion Group is looking for a Senior Seismic and Geohazard Consultant for an 18-month contract position, working as a PMC on an offshore Greenfield and Brownfield Gas development.

Project Information

Basic Design and FEED document review, supervision, and support during the EPC/EPIC tendering stage for on- and off-shore facilities of a gas field development.

Level of Discretion

  • Day-to-day decisions in the execution of the project; regarding G&G activities
  • Decisions to be coordinated with the G&G manager

Job Objectives

  • Supervision of Basic Design and FEED engineering activities
  • Support of EPC / EPIC tendering Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review, provision of comments, elaborations, and recommendations on G&G survey reports
  • Review of pipeline routing and verification of geo-hazard mitigation measures

Job specific experience

Education & Accreditation

  • University degree, BSc or MSc in Geology or Geophysics
  • Chartered status with a discipline relevant recognized engineering institution is considered advantageous

Design and Engineering

  • Familiar and conversant with all applicable standards, codes, and specifications
  • Familiar with subsea pipeline routing design activities

Communication

  • Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal & written).

Other

  • Prior experience with:

o Upstream oil & gas facilities

o Geotechnical surveys

o Full seismic QC incl. interpretation

o Well placement

o Reservoir modelling

o Geomorphological and Geophysical surveys

o Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA) and deaggregation studies

o Site Response Analysis (SRA) and Soil Liquefication

o Geohazard Assessment Study

Further details

  • Minimum 15 years professional experience in G&G
