Job description
Scientist II - Large and small molecule chromatography
Onsite in North Chicago, IL
6 months initial contract
Hourly Pay Rate: $40-43/hr (medical benefits available at a cost)
Responsibilities:
* Independently design and conduct critical experiments that further project goals.
* Documentation of experimental activities and results in a GMP compliant fashion using an electronic data acquisition and management systems.
* Interpret results and draw conclusions from own multistage experiments, note significant deviations, then suggest, design, and pursue relevant experiments.
* Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
* Understand relevant scientific literature and apply a theoretical framework to solving problems within scientific discipline in a timely manner
* Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques and appropriately modify protocols, as required, to suit the changing needs of research or development sciences.
* Place data in proper scientific context by consulting and citing relevant literature.
* Demonstrate technical proficiency in his/her field, preferentially in the analytical areas of quantitative and instrumental analysis.
* Perform routine and complex tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results.
* Impact projects predominantly through lab and/or pilot plant based activities.
* Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, and GxP compliance, where applicable
Preferable Skills:
* Familiarity with spectrophotometric enzymatic plate reader methods.
* Large and small molecule chromatography experience.
* Hands-on dissolution experience in development and testing.
* Prior exposure to natural products analytical development.
* Exposure to 2D Gel electrophoresis
Qualification:
* Bachelors Degree/Masters Degree in Chemistry/Analytical focus or equivalent
