Job description

SCADA Engineer Representative

Responsibilities:

  • To make sure the QHSE standards are applied to all SCADA packages on site
  • Establish SCADA site presence
  • SER perform on-site reporting to to Commisioning Manager
  • Supervise after mechanical completion on all SCADA scopes including Control systems, network and radio communication systems
  • Act as first person site contact for technical support
  • Act as interface between SCADA design team and Substation Commissioning team
  • Report progress to SCADA design team and Substation Commisioning manager
  • Understand that SCADA design team is responsible for deciding on design changes
  • Use Digital Inspection Tool as described in DIT Guidebook

Tasks:

  • Onboard the project and participate in SCADA FAT at supplier premises, later transfer to site and start participate in commissioning preparation approximately 3 months before official Commissioning programme starts
  • Participate in planning of test schedule with commissioning team
  • Participate in detailed planning with SCADA design team
  • Interface with site/yard installation and commissioning team to ensure SCADA related issues are cleared in a timely and professional manner
  • To attend site/yard installation/commissioning meetings as a SCADA project representative
  • To liaise closely with the SCADA project team to ensure a smooth bi-directional flow of data/information between project and site/yard
  • To be the single point of contact on site/yard for SCADA project team members. All project team site/yard works to be organised through the SCADA engineers Representative
  • To be client representative for the SCADA SAT tests, to sign off as test completes
  • To ensure other SCADA related package site documentation is provided in due time and to ensure SAT/as-built documentation (redmarks) is recorded and copied to site commissioning files. This needs to be done in corporation with Site supervisor
  • Review and verification of Mechanical Completion (MC) cable test reports for fiber and LAN as detailed in Substation Technical Standard requirements (SubTS)

Required Qualifications

  • Five years of site-based installation/commissioning experience within the energy/utilities sector
  • Qualified SCADA, EC&I engineer with experience of Telecommunication, HV transmission and distribution
  • GWO qualification and offshore experience for Yard/OSP activities
  • Construction Safety Qualification for Site/Onshore works
  • Strong communication and ability to lead.
  • Ability to motivate, delegate and coordinate
