Job description

Location: Westlakes / Warrington / Hybrid

Role Description

Required to undertake the following:

  • Decommissioning (in phases)
  • Ventilation replacement
  • Switch room replacement
  • Safety assessments to support the delivery of infrastructure
  • Chairing HAZOP meetings for the development of safety case
  • Attendance at committee meetings
  • Provide high quality safety case advice and documentation
  • Seeking and delivering improvements
  • Maintain up to date knowledge about legislation
  • Identify and participate in improvement initiatives on safety case process implementation
  • Facilitate communication between relevant stakeholders
  • Identify high level hazard management strategies
  • Preliminary consequence assessment
  • Identify and share LFE to promote best practice

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in relevant field
  • Experience in the preparation of nuclear safety assessments for a range of facilities and hazards
  • Understanding UK nuclear regulatory safety requirements
  • Safety case profession SQEP3 preferred SQEP2 possible
  • Degree or equivalent in relevant field
  • Experience in the preparation of nuclear safety assessments for a range of facilities and hazards
  • Understanding UK nuclear regulatory safety requirements
  • Safety case profession SQEP3 preferred SQEP2 possible
  • Other regulated industries will be considered

Desirable

  • Understanding of glovebox operation
  • Understanding of analytical services (B229)
  • Understanding of safety assessments
  • Previous experience of HAZOP char/secretary
  • Previous experience of Alpha plants criticality safety
