918293 - Rotating Equipment Engineer

Job Description

  • The Engineer will lead the development of the GRE Standard Package(s) assigned.
  • Development of Comments and Exceptions against our client's Upstream's procurement specs with the relevant Supplier, reviewing Exception requests with the relevant client's Technical Authorities, and delivering Approved Comments and Exceptions for issue as a pre-agreed document.
  • The engineer will also coordinate the development and approval of associated standard documents, such as inspection and test plans, painting procedures, etc.
  • The engineer will work in collaboration with the GFH rotating equipment engineers, Quality Lead, Project Engineer, our client's Technical Authorities and Subject Matter Expects to develop these packages.
  • The Engineer will support Projects with the use of the Standard Packages for equipment delivery.
  • The Engineer may be requested to provide ad hoc technical support to live projects where there are issues with rotating equipment in commissioning or start-up.
  • The duration for this work is anticipated to be six months with the possibility of extension.
  • The role is based in our client's Sunbury office, reporting to the Product Manager for Rotating Equipment.
  • There will be a need to travel to Project offices in the South East of the UK, including KBR's Leatherhead office. There will be the need for occasional business travel to meet with representatives of our clients Upstream's rotating equipment Global Agreement holders.

Personal Specification

  • Holder of at least a BEng in Mechanical Engineering, or evidence of sufficient experience in the design and delivery of rotating equipment.
  • Experience with the specification of packaged rotating equipment (in particular centrifugal compressors, pumps of all types, gas turbines) for procurement. Competent in the use of the Client company's engineering standards and API codes for this purpose.
  • Experience with the delivery of packaged rotating equipment through design, manufacturing/assembly, testing, installation, commissioning and start-up.
  • Good communication skills, using all types of media now available. Able to work with "remote" teams and communicate clearly using internet-based communication tools.
  • Collaborative worker, comfortable to work as part of a team, but also able to demonstrate ownership of deliverables.
