Risk Engineer

The Risk Engineer will fulfil a key role within the Project Controls function, supporting the Risk Manager and Project Control director with the implementation and development of Risk Management in Subsea UK while ensuring best practices, development of standards and governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitation of risk assessment workshops during start-up of tenders and projects
  • Ensuring that all projects and tenders are compliant with the global risk management requirements
  • Superuser/technical support to project and tender teams in the use of Risk Management Tools
  • Provide input to tender clarifications in relation to Risk Management including identification of deviations/qualifications for tender submissions
  • Monitor effectiveness of project risk management throughout the project life cycle

Qualifications:

Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Statistics, Business Management or Project Management

Nice to have:

  • Additional post-graduate qualification in Risk Management

Background and Experience:

  • Experience of Risk management and or Project Controls
  • Preferred experience of oil and gas industry, specifically subsea products and projects
  • Excellent facilitation skills (with all levels of seniority)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience in interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
  • Commitment to continual improvement

Technical competencies:

  • Superuser knowledge of incumbent Risk Management system
  • Working knowledge of other Risk Management systems
  • Knowledge of Quantitative Risk Analysis software e.g. @risk, crystal ball

QHSE competencies:

  • Lead by example to promote correct QHSES behaviours
  • Take action upon any health, safety, security and environmental matter brought to their notice, and to escalate any matter that they are unable to rectify
