Facilities Engineer, Cowdenbeath, Circa £35,000

Our client a leading retail food company are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to provide a timely and efficient response and resolution to any general day to day maintenance repairs or servicing at various retail sites throughout the central belt of Scotland.

You will complete a variety of maintenance and refurbishment tasks to our clients current and future retail shops. You will be the point of contact and communication to ensure that any work is completed to specifications and standards that are required, and you will aim to build positive relationships them.

What your key responsibilities are

  • The day to day maintenance and inspection of facilities including plumbing, lighting, and air systems.
  • Carrying out work across multiple trades e.g. electrical fault finding, small installations, small plumbing, joinery, and asset repairs.
  • Managing and actioning any emergencies and urgent repairs.
  • Scheduling and completing any routine asset maintenance.
  • Ensure all statutory documents are updated and visible where required.
  • Carry out PAT, Fire alarm and emergency lighting testing.
  • Update and maintain CMMS
  • Complete reports, and small work tenders as required.

What your key skills and experiences are:

  • You should be able to work at height and be able to move and lift heavy objects.
  • You should be able to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
  • You need a full driving licence (no more than 3 points) and happy to travel across Scotland
  • Have a relevant electrical qualification or 3 years equivalent electrical experience.
  • Experience in CMMS or similar asset management software.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office
  • Experience in writing small works descriptions and co-ordinating external trade contractors.
  • Experience and an understanding of H&S legislation.
  • Experience in managing external trade contractors.

This role is fulltime at 39 hours per week. You will be required to be flexible with your hours, working a 5 from 7 shift pattern with weekend, evening work and rostered call out as required.

This role is commutable from Cowdenbeath, Kelty, Dalgety Bay, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Perth, Kinross, North Queensferry, South Queensferry, Dunfermline, Kincardine, Stirling, Falkirk, Edinburgh, Dundee.
