Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Reservoir Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Analyze field and well dynamic behaviour - raw data manipulation and acquisition planning eg PVT, PBU, sampling and other operations to validate field performance and performance predictions
* Evaluate analogue field behaviour to understand and identify the possible range of outcomes
* Contribute to definition of the appropriate reservoir management strategy and data acquisition to maximize field economic recovery, working with the PE and production optimization team, validating decisions with additional data and modelling where necessary
* Perform reservoir modelling and dynamic simulations, history matching/calibration, subsurface uncertainty analysis. Use fit-for-purpose integrated predictive tools and models to evaluate incremental well & development opportunities, and to assess production forecasts and reserves.
* Develop, build and adapt reservoir models, working with the Geoscience, petrophysical and Petro technical disciplines to do so
* Prepare and document production forecasts for the project on a well by well and field basis for short-term and life of field forecasts - working with Production Optimisation to ensure appropriate implementation of the Well and Reservoir management strategy
* Initiate technical and business cases for incremental projects in order to optimize production rates and hydrocarbon recovery aimed at maximizing economic recovery from the project
* Providing technical support to Drilling & Completion team for well trajectories and completions design and execution, including testing and sampling operations. When required, supervising operations on well site for well startups and interventions.
* Perform reserves and resources estimates, classification, documentation for reserve reporting internally (Annual Statement of Reserves).
* Maintain up-to-date life of field production forecasts, cost profiles and other necessary information within the Value Navigator (Valnav) corporate database.
* Provide appropriate QA and QC of any short term, particularly in year forecasts and well performance assessments in collaboration with the Production Optimisation team.
* Provide evaluations of further development strategies and incremental investment projects to mature contingent and prospective resources.
* Manage where necessary input and output to / from external studies, QC and apply study findings and conclusions.
* Prepare data sets and reports for partners and regulator (for ex FDP addendum, TCMs) as required.
* Act in compliance with Company policies and values, specifically regarding HSE.
* Ensure that all relevant information is stored appropriately, identifying issues and propose improvements to the asset team databases.
* Ensure the company's standards and processes are adhered to. Manage any assurance processes accordingly.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering
* In depth understanding of all reservoir and petroleum engineering activities
* Significant experience of working on development and producing projects mostly in an operated environment. North Sea gas field experience is an advantage.
* Proficient in the use of computational models for reservoir simulation and well and reservoir performance evaluation, (Prosper MBAL and GAP, Kappa, Eclipse, TNav and Petrel or equivalent)
* Demonstrable track record of uncertainty management
* Demonstrable track record of integrated cross disciplinary working in a field development and infill environment
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of technical disciplines - strong interpersonal skills are essential.
* Strong influencing and presentation skills
* Ability to structure work and solve problems
* Ability to plan, organise and do study work
* Collaborative approach with other departments and teams by removing barriers to effective integration and networking.
* High knowledge level of operational activities
