Orion Group are delighted to be working with Large, well performing E&P company based in Staines, Middlesex which has multiple locations throughout the UK. We are looking for a thoroughly experienced fully Qualified Accountant who his strong in Reporting. The contract will initially last for one year and will start in January 2020.

Overview of the Job:

  • To support the Accounts & reporting Manager in achieving the execution of high quality and timely monthly, quarterly and half-yearly management reporting;
  • Drafting of the aggregation, explanation, review and challenge of the results of Spirit Energy, prior to the Accounts & Reporting Manager's review;
  • To assist the Manager in the standardisation and enhancement of reporting, providing governance and support for the regional finance teams;
  • In addition, the individual will support the A&R Manager in satisfying management information requirements to a variety of stakeholders to deliver on the business objectives as required.
  • To assist the Manager and Financial Controller, Corporate with then end-to-end management of Other profit centre groups
  • Establish and maintain an effective system of internal control to ensure integrity, accuracy and compliance of financial accounting and reporting;
  • To facilitate E&P related queries from stakeholder groups

Accountability of the Role:

  • Support in the delivery of the month-end process in a timely and high quality manner. The role will include:
    • Engaging with regional accountants and wider stakeholder groups to ensure an efficient close process;
    • Aggregation and drafting of robust and timely reporting for Spirit Energy, including P&L Flash results and BS and CF analytical reviews;
    • Facilitation of Spirit Energy ledger closing;
    • Drafting of KPIs and metrics on a monthly basis.
  • Responsibility for assisting Accounts 7 Reporting Manager in the planning and preparation of quarter, half year and year end reporting procedures and supplementary notes;
  • Support in the identification and response to accounting issues as they arise at month end and advise regions on compliance with IFRS;
  • Work with the External and Internal Auditors, responding to queries and providing evidence through the half year and year end close;
  • Understand and use SAP functionality (ERP, BW, BPC) to drive improvements in process and Financial Control across company;
  • Support the Manager in implementation of the controls agenda, which includes:
    • Drive and monitor robust controls in the Financial Statement Close Process; &
    • Completing defined financial controls and provide appropriate supporting evidence in ARIS;
  • Other month-end process, completing in a timely and high quality manner, which includes:
    • Integrity review (P&L) process with FP&A, FC and FP stakeholders;
    • Facilitating timely ledger close processes;
    • Preparation of high quality and timely CF and BS analytics;
    • Undertaking assurance activities for E&P Consolidation Manager on integrity of underlying data forming part of company financial statements;
  • Work closely with Senior Treasury Accountant, providing guidance and support on workflows that roll-up into Corporate profit centres;
  • Responsible for a number of internal reporting requirements, including:
    • Responsibility for a range of E&P non-tax compliance procedures such as overseas VAT returns;

Extra details and requirements:

  • Excel- must be able to operate to a high level
  • Extensive experience of SAP
  • Confident enough to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Always improve processes
  • IFRS experience
  • Must be fully Qualified with at least 2 years post qual expeirnece, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS
  • Must be available for a January start date
