Quantity Surveyor- London, Contract

A brand new position has arisen for a global engineering consultancy based out one of their London offices for an enthusiastic quantity surveyor/cost manager. The role will consist of restoration and refurbishment of a key major project. Knowledge of NEC contracts and having experience on the client side will be desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in managing the procurement process from end-to-end for a variety of services and works, including:
  • Assisting in delivering procurement solutions to deliver effective, value-led procurements in response to procurement pipeline, in accordance with internal procedures.
    Assisting to develop tender documentation in compliance with Client requirements, including existing framework call-offs.
  • Liaising with requestors and other functions in development and approval of tender/contract documentation.
  • Assisting in management of tender process, including query/clarifications, tender interviews, and negotiations.
  • Where appropriate engagement with supply-chain -Contract formation and engrossment.
  • Administering of services/works contract agreements whether by call-off from existing arrangements, stand-alone contracts or new Frameworks, including:
  • Ensuring prompt payments in accordance with the agreements.
  • Issuing of contract notices as required by agreements Education and Qualifications

Educational Professional Qualifications Required

In order to provide the appropriate level of technical experience candidates key attributes are required to include, as a minimum:

  • Experience in communicating effectively in both oral and written forms to internal project parties and external bodies/wider supply-community.
  • Experience of procuring services and/or works contracts within a regulated environment.
  • Able to work within time-constraints
  • Communication, relationship management and presentation skills, where influencing skills are paramount.
  • Experience of working within an assurance (review/check/approval) system for deliverables.
  • Experience of NEC3 contract administration.
  • The candidate shall be CIPS or RICS qualified, or working towards a professional qualification.
  • Ideally possess knowledge of client administration systems, such as iProcurement.
