The post holder makes sure all stages of the engineering based production process meet internal and external quality requirements.
This involves checking incoming materials, products and documentations,in-process production methods; finished products and packaging.
Monitoring and recording quality results.
Key responsibilities.
Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspections, rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
Carry out physical checks on incoming, finished and outgoing goods, which could include opening crates and packed engineering good and removing items to inspect.
Monitor in-process production, carrying out visual and measurement based checks and tests.
Return sub-quality products for re-work; monitoring and confirming successful re-work.
Check for compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) at all stages of production.
Continuously review SOPs to make sure they are up to date and accurately reflect Ceramex and client requirements, for opportunities to improve processes, updating documentation as necessary.
Liaise between Production, Maintenance, Development and Stores to maximise the time all equipment and processes are operational.
Complete all quality documentation, recording all results, completing reports and logs to summarise re-work, waste and compliance.
Communicate non-compliance and opportunities for improvement to the production team.
Approve finished products by confirming all quality standards have been met.
Conduct regular checks and audits on finished goods, packaging and documentation.
Ensure product type and all paperwork are correct, including inspection, customer specification and delivery information.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.

Personal Qualities
Previous experience of working within a Lean manufacturing environment.
Quality control/inspection experience.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
Able to work alone and in a team.
Able to frequently lift goods to a weight of 20kgs, open sealed boxes and remove / replace HGV filters.
Able to write and review operating procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive team player, with a positive 'can do' attitude and motivated towards continuous improvement.
High attention to detail.
Knowledge of H&S and associated responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
Competent user of core Microsoft Office software including excel.
