Job Title: Quality Engineer (£35,000 - £55,000)

Location: Bristol

Background: This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to play a key role in the development of a new nuclear build. The role will be based in Bristol but may require travel to the site based in Bridgewater. The Quality Engineer for the Joint Design Office (JDO) will be responsible for setting up the Joint Design Office Management System. The Joint Design Office is a multi-agency team and will therefore need to have practical and efficient arrangements put in place based on existing systems and processes to enable the smooth operation of the JDO. The Quality Engineer will be part of the Joint Design Office, and will report to the Nuclear Safety & Quality Manager.

Role and Responsibilities: * Design of process map for JDO * Mapping of existing process and procedures, adaptation of applicable existing procedures, production of new procedures , production of organisational memorandum, production of management manual * Development and deployment of training regarding the JMS for all JDO staff * Ensure JMS adherence to external standards (e.g. ISO 9001:2015) and customer requirements * Organise process reviews * Setting up and managing the continuous improvement process for the JDO * Setting up and managing the non-conformance and corrective/preventive action process * Development of quality portal * Support development of the quality culture in the JDO * Participation in Quality Coordination meetings * Coordination of and participation in internal and external quality audits, generating audit reports and progressing follow-up actions * Monitoring and reporting KPI's * Preparing reports as required for Management Reviews

Qualifications and Experience: * Knowledge of the ISO 9001: 2015 standard requirements * Knowledge of Quality Management Systems * Engineering or science degree or equivalent qualification * Experience with the development and implementation of Quality Management Systems * Preparation, review, issuance and control of documents o performance of quality audits o non-conformance, corrective and preventive management * Experience working in a nuclear, engineering or design office environment * Knowledge of the IAEA standard GSR Part 2 requirements is desirable * Knowledge of General Quality Assurance Specification (GQAS) & Quality Related Activities (QRA) * Experience with training in quality management topics * Experience in performance of Root Cause Analysis * Membership of a Professional Institute leading to Chartered Status in a relevant topic area
