Our Client currently has a vacancy for a Quality Controller. Ideal candidates will have an extensive expereince within a food manufacturing/ processing environment.

Main responsibilities:

  • Quality controllers examine products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that they meet Food Safety & production standards
  • Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced
  • Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products
  • Report inspection and test data
  • Introduce, approve or reject all procedures, specifications, methods, and results
  • Approve or reject all raw materials, packaging materials, labelling and finished products
  • Introduce & review all production records for accuracy before approving
  • Establish procedures for revising procedures, recipes, and more
  • Approve changes to procedures, recipes, and more
  • Ensure that the latest revision is always being used
  • Perform & collate all the required tests to ensure identity and composition, and to ensure that products are not contaminated or adulterated

Additional duties:

  • Investigation of consumer complaints
  • Evaluation of new vendors/materials
  • Internal audits to verify compliance to regulations
  • Maintaining relationships with vendors and regulatory agencies

Required Experience:

  • Proven Food Safety knowledge & experience
  • BRC/ Salsa, third party & customer audit experience
  • HACCP knowledge & experience, including TACCP & VACCP
  • Be able to work on own initiative
  • Good knowledge in Word & Excel
  • Training & mentoring experience
  • Practical 'hands on' approach

This is a permanent position with an initial 3-month probationary period.
