Job description

We have a current opportunity for a QA/QC Inspector to join our Client on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and monitoring the quality of the product, compliance of process parameters & systems and escalating step-changes in data or non-compliance.

Main responsibilities:

  • Conduct lab testing according to CE standards and record/manage in database

  • Managing and implementing onsite calibration programme of measuring equipment

  • Raise testing non-conformances and quarantine product where required

  • Conduct basic root-cause analysis (RCA) on non-conformances for review

  • Generate regular reports on test results/process parameter/non-conformances

  • Monitor graphs and escalate any step-changes in quality

  • Analyse raw material usage data and Certificate of Analysis (CoA), ensuring compliance

  • Prepare and test samples for external testing/market surveillance/R&D

  • Daily checks of process parameters, finished product specifications etc. ensuring compliance

  • Assist in Research & Development trials/ new product implementation - control and manage test data, preparing trends/comparisons for reports

  • Assisting the Quality Engineer in QMS development and implementation

  • Participating in the internal audit programme

  • Ensuring areas including lab, control test equipment and CNC cutter/sample areas/QC areas are kept in good condition

  • Any additional tasks required for collection/analysis of testing, process or product data

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Previous background in quality testing/checks and standards/regulations

  • Basic data analysis - can identify step-changes in trends.

  • Technical awareness.

  • Familiarisation with Quality Management Systems- trained ISO:9001 auditor preferable but not essential (training can be provided)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - detailed knowledge and use of Excel formulae/tools

Skills:

  • Technically minded- must be able to understand regulations and the site process

  • Data analysis and interpretation through Excel or internal trending systems

  • Self-motivated, open-minded, pro-active and intuitive

  • High level of integrity in the data being handled within the role

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Comfortable working by themselves and as a team, and confident in escalating deficiencies

  • Extremely organised and efficient

  • Time management - reliable, must be able to multi-task and prioritise, whilst being flexible and adapting to changes in priorities

Hours of work:

Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

(evening/weekend work occasionally required)
