One of our major clients have an excellent opportunity to join the project team as a QA/QC Engineer on a new high profile LNG project based in Kitimat, British Columbia.

This role will be based between project office in Calgary, the yard in Yokohama (Japan) and the actual project site in Kitimat.

Accountabilities:

- Assist in developing the Project Quality Management system by establishing procedures, plans and work instructions as needed.

- Work with the EPC Contractor to develop and implement the "Zero Defect" culture.

- Organize and manage inspection activities including assigning inspectors and QC engineers to attend witness and hold points as required by ITPs.

- Monitor implementation of the client Quality Management System through regular audits and reviews.

- Monitor implementation of the FPD program throughout the Execute Phase.

- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure quality performance in different areas of work development.

- Monitor and report on compliance and nonconformities and maintain relevant records.

- Provide guidance to the project team on matters related to QA/QC and support project initiatives to raise the quality awareness amongst project team members, contractors and sub-contractors.

- Attend site quality meetings with contractors.

- Develop and issue quality alerts as necessary.

- Identify and manage risks that could impact achieving quality objectives.

Skills & Requirements:

- Professional engineer with a 10-15 Years of QA/QC experience in civil construction and marine works.

- A minimum of Diploma in Civil Engineering.

- Preferably TA2 or TA3 in Civil Engineering or Quality Engineering.

- Qualified Lead Quality Assessor/Auditor.

- Experience in Quality Management Systems for construction works with knowledge of ISO 9000 standards.

- Experience in inspection and test methods and techniques for:

- Soil and earthworks

- Geotechnical, marine, dredging

- Concrete testing

- Cable trenching

- Foundation and caisson construction

- Concrete (material, mixing, transporting, pre-placement, placement, finishing and repair, curing)

- Steel structure erection.

- Familiarity with Canadian and BC standards, codes and regulations are preferable.

- Shall have experience in managing inspection and QC activities at construction site.

- Shall have experience in developing and managing inspection and test plans.

- Knowledge in developing and managing FPD and Lessons Learned programs.

- Excellent communications and inter-personal / leadership skills are essential.

- Ability to manage interfaces and relationship with key stakeholders.

- Ability to influence the project team to ensure quality is achieved, working across timezones towards a common goal, despite globally distributed work teams.

- Proven track record of result deliveries in challenging project environments
