Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Purchasing Manager, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities will include:
Manage the Company's day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure business needs are met
Set departmental KPIs and benchmarking activities, monitor sourcing activities, ensuring target costs are met
Actively promote a team culture and positive working environment, ensuring good communication and sharing of information within the Purchasing department, Service Lines, other Company departments and across other Company entities
Develop Purchasing department staff's key skills sets required for effective performance, productivity and career development
Collaborate closely with Contracts and Commercial departments, lead, and execute tendering, negotiating and contract management activities with supplier management teams
Manage, on behalf of the business, effective, key supplier relationships, ensuring quality, cost, security of supply, and supplier commitment to Company's business
Identify and lead opportunities to drive performance in supply, cost, quality, innovation and risk reduction to the business
Conduct regular analysis of supplier spend and volume data, reducing overall supply chain costs or leveraging spends where scale allows
Ensure comprehensive Company purchasing records, supplier information databases and records are kept and maintained
Provide assistance to Company personnel with regards to supplier specific requirements
Provide advice, guidance and support to various departments within the Company on purchasing issues
Attend departmental meetings and highlight any issues or potential problems to Manager Operations Asset Resources

Qualifications
Essential
HNC or equivalent standard in Procurement OR a relevant business, finance or administration OR equivalent vocational qualifications and / or experience

Desirable
CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply (or working towards)

Experience
Essential
Strong experience across a wide range of common supply chain categories
Previous experience being responsible for delivery of procurement benefits including financial savings
Previous purchasing / procurement experience in a supervisory / management role

Desirable
Experience of establishing new purchasing processes and systems to improve company performance
Experience in working in a procurement corporate environment with external functional reporting lines
