**Pump Engineer required for short term contract**

The Senior Pump Engineer shall report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. In the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor then reporting shall be to the Operations Manager. Additionally close communication with the operations team shall be necessary on an ongoing basis, in relation to projects carried out on Client sites both onshore and offshore, as shall close communication with Project Owners, Supervisors and Client representatives.

The Senior Pump Engineer shall be responsible for cleaning, inspection, maintenance and repair of all Company equipment and vehicles (with particular emphasis on high- pressure, and ultra high- pressure water jetting equipment); and the supervision, training, coaching and development of Trainee Pump Engineers (and others) in the completion of these activities in full compliance with Company procedures.

Specific duties whilst on Client sites shall include the following:

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of Company equipment and accessories.

  • Responsible for carrying out daily checks, routine maintenance activities and ensuring that all equipment and accessories are kept clean, tidy and fit for purpose. Also responsible for completion of all associated paperwork, records and reports; and submission there-of to the Project Owner and the Support Services Department in accordance with Company procedures.

  • Responsible for ensuring that equipment is operated at optimum performance in full compliance with recommended guidelines, manufacturers tolerances and Company procedures.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the spares inventory is kept safe and secure and for ensuring that replacement parts are kept at required levels through prompt completion and submission of the appropriate paperwork to the Project Owner and the Support Services Department identifying necessary top up items and quantities thereof.

  • Responsible for supervising and training Pump Engineers, Trainee Pump Engineers and other Company and Client personnel as appropriate.

  • Responsible for carrying out field appraisals on Pump Engineers / Trainee Pump Engineers and Operatives whilst on projects, on-shore, off-shore or in-shore.

  • Responsible for carrying out site surveys to assess technical / practical feasibility of potential work-scopes and completion of associated reports.

  • Responsible for ensuring that prior to leaving site, all equipment, spares, hoses and accessories are accounted for and made ready for de-mobilisation in a safe and efficient manner. Any problems, breakages, damage or shortfalls shall be recorded on the appropriate paperwork and the Project Owner and the Support Services Department notified in accordance with Company procedures.

  • Oversee, support and participate in other on-site activities, wherever safe and practicable, as an integral member of a multi-dicipline work team. Specific duties whilst working within the Company's shall include the following:

  • Responsible for planning and completion of equipment maintenance and associated record keeping. Also for carrying out cleaning, inspection, servicing, repair and re certification of equipment in accordance with Company procedures

  • Responsible for fault identification and repair following reported defects, damage or problems (as highlighted by Defect Reports and other forms of operator feedback).

  • Responsible for pre-mobilisation and de-mobilisation function tests and condition checks in accordance with Company procedures.

  • Responsible for encouraging, developing and mentoring Trainee Pump Engineers throughout their development programme.

  • Responsible, in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor, for preparing equipment for third party assessment and ensuring that appropriate re-certification is achieved following subsequent inspection. This shall involve checking existing documentation, operating the equipment under load conditions, ensuring that all safety control mechanisms (and other such assessment criteria) are in place, function correctly and hold current certification; and accompanying / assisting the inspector throughout the process.

  • Responsible, in conjunction with the Training Co-ordinator, for the delivery of accredited training programmes to Company personnel and to third parties including water jetting training in accordance with Water Jetting Association (WJA) standards.

  • Responsible, in conjunction with the Competence Co-ordinator, for ensuring that Pump Engineers / Trainee Pump Engineers are trained in all aspects of Company equipment using the Equipment Maintenance - Core Training Matrix as a point of reference.

  • Responsible, in conjunction with the HR Department for identifying opportunities for and undertaking competence assessments as agreed with the Competence Co-ordinator and the timely completion of the necessary paperwork.
