OrionGroup are looking for a Supply Chain Project Manager for our multinational pharmaceutical client based in the Middlesex area on an initial 12-month contract.

Role Outline

This role will be tasked with leading projects across the EMEA region related to the integration. These projects will be in line with the strategic imperatives and be in support of becoming the world's best supply chain.
In this role, the candidate will have responsibilities of end to end project management including coordination of cross-functional teams (Supply Chain partners, Planning, Customer Service, Finance, Sales, IT and QA).


Main Responsibilities include:

  • Leads, organizes, coordinates and directs efforts of interdisciplinary team responsible for the assessment, design, process and launch of key EMEA projects.
  • Responsible for developing tactics and updates the organization on project plans, measures, and status. Owns the processes, tools, and metrics related to the project management process and adherence to these processes.
  • Organizes, manages and controls special projects relating to the strategic plan of the Vision Care EMEA Leadership Team. Manages the development, rollout and establishment of assigned projects. Coordinates project activities and holds responsibility for the overall project success.
  • Responsible for developing project plans, timelines and resource requirements.
  • Facilitates and manages cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Interfaces with all necessary organizations (Marketing, Sales, Production Planning, Manufacturing, Suppliers, etc.) that result in successful implementation of projects.
  • Manage sub-projects connected to programs / integrations developed by business partners
  • Accountable for continuous process improvement relative to projects, processes and metrics.
  • Develops strategies and tactics for defining, enabling, and delivering the EMEA project portfolio. Interfaces with all organizations to enable timely, successful deliverables as defined in the project charter.
  • Takes a lead or assists in driving business partners to building robust business cases, based on sound assumptions and gaining clear alignment on the out coming measurements before the project commences.
  • Leads, manages and develops the performance of assigned staff, providing coaching, training and development
  • Data analysis to identify business opportunities and areas for improvement using customer and business insights to drive change through projects
  • Responsible for project plans, timelines, and resource requirements and assists with developing business plans (including appropriation requests).

Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate

  • PRINCE2 / PMI / APM certified or an equivalent
  • 7+ years' experience in Supply Chain or Logistics preferably in the Medical Device sector
  • Self-starter who achieves goals and objectives with successful project completion
  • Excellent negotiation & influencing skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) with ability to manage peer and more senior stakeholders
  • Experience in working within matrix organisations
  • Strong analytical & strategic skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage complexity and take ownership for deliverables
  • Experience in the execution of distribution centre moves, WMS implementations or Order To Cash processes
  • Process improvement & change management skills
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, both warehousing & transportation
  • Fluency in English is required (written and spoken). Additional languages are a plus
  • All MS Office applications, including Access & modelling tools
  • SAP, JDE and/or other ERP knowledge is a plus
