Job description

Our Client is a leading global engineering and consulting company providing services to the energy industry. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to join their team in Qatar on a long-term basis. As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering projects across study, FEED, EPC, and PMC scopes of work, ensuring adherence to project plans, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion a culture of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality excellence, both within Wood and for our clients.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and control project work, ensuring compliance with corporate practices and project procedures.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans and schedules in line with Company and Contract requirements.
  • Provide leadership and commitment to the Project HSSE and Quality plan.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure objectives are met within the established cost targets.
  • Focus on customer care and feedback, understanding the project's business case and drivers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Engineering, Procurement, and Project services resources deployed on the project.
  • Liaise closely with client management representatives to ensure their interests are accommodated.
  • Clearly define and communicate project objectives and organizational structure to the project team.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular updates to the company.
  • Expedite account receivables for the project.
  • Document and review lessons learned from the project and implement best practices.
  • Successfully close out the project.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Further education and certification in Project Management, such as PMP or APM, is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications for document development, presentations, trackers, and schedules.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and highly driven individual with a strong attention to detail and initiative.
  • Strong commercial aptitude and awareness, capable of interpreting and following contracts while addressing potential delays, changes, and commercial matters.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experienced in risk and change management across various project phases, including design and site works.
  • Proven track record of managing lump sum contracts for engineering projects in the oil and gas industry (Qatar experience preferred).
  • Strong decision-making and analytical skills, with excellent organization and administrative abilities.
  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with diverse personalities.
  • High energy level, comfortable handling multifaceted projects.
  • Demonstrated servant leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Be available to work in Doha, Qatar
  • Confidently deliver assigned scopes of work independently, with minimal guidance and direction.
  • Take ownership of scopes of work, coordinating engineering disciplines and supporting functions to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Have experience working independently in remote locations and supporting cross-discipline activities.
  • Possess proficient written and spoken communication skills in English to interpret and disseminate complex scope and contract documents.
