Job description

Looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Project Manager to join the Waste Projects team. This is a central role within the project management team for the Central FED Project which is developing the solutions for the safe retrieval and processing of solid ILW at

both Sites.

A key part of the role is to develop a close working relationship with site and central teams and work

collaboratively to develop and deliver effective solutions.

Project:

It's a radioactive waste characterisation and design of retrieval or processing equipment to safely take it out from where it is and put it into passive containers.

First two years are concept design development, sampling of the waste, characterisation of the waste, testing of the disposal routes for low level waste.

Day to day:

  • Radioactive waste, design of retrieval and process to move waste to secure containers,
  • concept design development.
  • Testing of disposal routes.
  • Early phase project management

Qualifications/ Skills:

  • APM practitioner (Desirable, not essential)
  • CITB (Desirable, not essential)
  • Good Communication
  • Stakeholder Management

Experience:

  • Previous authority experience required: Preferably in a regulated industry - water/rail
  • Experience of highly regulated is preferential - need to understand the relationships with regulators would be ideal
  • Highly regulated projects/ regulated background
  • Early phase development
  • Development of Scheme design, concept design, management of contractors
  • Engineering knowledge (Desirable not essential)
  • Experience preferred over technical
