Overview:

They are now seeking a Project Engineer on both the Marine and Oil & Gas departments based in their Head Office in Manchester on a contract basis.

The role will involve understanding and interpreting the client's technical specifications and commercial documentation. Organising any design deliverable packages, obtaining quotes and procurement of equipment. Organising of goods to be shipped and generation of all relevant documentation for export compliance.

Planning and managing design resources and site based engineers, this includes any sub-contractors that may be involved with the project. Attending and managing design review and progress review meetings with the client and approval authorities.

The role will involve being financially responsible for the project and all financial reporting, ensure the project is brought to conclusion on time within budget and to the clients satisfaction.

Experience in the following areas preferred but not essential:

* Good working knowledge of fire protection systems, both mechanical and electrical

* Good working knowledge of skid design and fabrication

* Good working knowledge of fire protection standards and regulations

* Good communication skills

Skills/Experience/Requirements:

Essential:

* Contract control

* Cost control, preparing monthly forecast

* Procurement of equipment

* Planning work scopes

* Managing the design deliverables

* Liaising directly with the client and approval authorities

* Experience in interpreting clients technical specifications

* Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project

Desirable:

* Prince Qualified

* HNC/HND in Engineering

* Experience in project planning

* Experience in Oil & Gas and/or Marine industry

* Experience in mechanical and electrical design workings
