Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Project Engineer on a contract basis. The position will be based in Buckinghamshire 3 days in the office and with 2 days a week from home.

The outline scope of deliverables covers:

  • Guaranteeing the compliance of Engineering solutions within client requirements, industry standards and Group HSE, engineering processes and best practices.
  • Providing demonstrable knowledge of European, American, and international standards applicable to the petrochemical industry.
  • Ensuring execution of the Project Deliverables to meet project scope requirements as laid out in the Project Contract.
  • Developing the Project Engineering Plan and submitting for review and input of the Discipline Managers and the Project Manager [PM] prior to commencement of project engineering activities.
  • Directing and supporting the Lead Discipline Engineers [LDE's] in project execution goals and mandates. Ensuring quality and governance requirements are included in the schedule and conducted as required.
  • Conducting weekly reviews of scheduled tasks for execution and completion and determining problems or obstructions to progress. Meeting with the LDE's to discuss and facilitate solutions to any potential issues. In the event of alternative execution paths, determines and agrees the optimum solution.
  • Provides project direction to Design Engineering and Process Engineering LDE's and is responsible for managing development, maintenance, and distribution of engineering budget manhours and schedules.
  • Guaranteeing the timely processing of budget, schedule change requests, and revisions to approved budget manhours are logged and communicated to the PM and the Client.
  • Coordinating between Technology/Engineering/Process and Project Controls to assure timely delivery and updates to project management tools.
  • Guiding Procurement and Construction activities including technical bid evaluations, requisition packages, vendor document reviews, tests/inspections, sub-contracts and disposition of nonconformities.
  • Coordinating with the Project Document Control team concerning procedures and systems required for a project.
