Job description

Project Engineer (PE) is responsible for project management through FEL 1/2/3 and execute stages with safety, quality, schedule and budget targets. PE will manage contractors (designers, engineers, construction managers). Interface with procurement for competitive bids (engineered equipment, bulks and services).

BS in Mechanical Engineering
Min 5-7 years engineering and project management experience in the petrochemical industry
Experience oversight and collaborating with EPC firms
Experience with construction management in a TAR environment

Technical skills

  • Experience working with engineering design firms
  • Strong budgeting and cost control skills
  • Proficient in mechanical engineering
  • Demonstrated technical capability to assess vendor quotes
  • Demonstrated capabilities to assess work sequencing, optimize project planning and scheduling
  • Experience with estimating and scheduling tools
  • Capability to assess impact of specifications and standards for both rotating and fixed equipment on reliability and maintainability of production unit

  • Proven ability to work with operations, maintenance, contractors

Essential Job Functions:

  • During turnarounds and planned/unplanned shutdowns, work 12-hour shifts, up to 6 days weekly, including night shift
  • Work in confined spaces (e.g., pressure vessels and at heights including scaffolding, stairs, ladders, elevated platforms)
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; not require sponsorship for employment visa status
