Our Client is a leading global engineering company providing project management and consultancy services in various industries. They are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Controls Manager to join our team in Qatar.

This is a key role within their Doha office, where you will play a crucial part in the successful execution of projects across study, FEED, EPC, and PMC scopes of work. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the cost, planning, scheduling, and risk assessment support to project teams and clients.
  • Establish and maintain project controls systems, tools, and interfaces to ensure accurate management and reporting of project costs, schedule, and risks.
  • Manage a team of project control resources to deliver projects with excellence.
  • Interface with key stakeholders across the project and wider business.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project costs, schedules, and risk-related matters.
  • Develop and implement project control execution plans.
  • Monitor project progress, milestones, and performance against plans.
  • Identify and communicate potential delays or issues affecting project schedules.
  • Establish effective communication interfaces for cost, planning, scheduling, and risk deliverables and services.
  • Prepare project status reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management.
  • Develop and maintain project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Implement cost and planning control structures aligned with the project WBS.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, and change requests.
  • Generate accurate S-curves and histograms.
  • Develop and maintain logic-linked Gantt Charts using preferred planning software.
  • Analyze resource needs and provide recommendations to the Project Manager.
  • Oversee recovery processes for project schedule slippages or float erosion.
  • Manage the preparation and issuance of project change orders and variations.
  • Chair internal and client Project Controls meetings.
  • Lead cost and schedule risk analysis workshops.
  • Ensure effective risk management at the project level.
  • Develop and maintain accurate project controls processes and procedures.
  • Manage the performance, development, and workload of the project controls team.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and client requirements.
  • Capture and implement lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration within the project controls team and across the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical or business discipline.
  • Relevant industry experience in project control positions, including significant experience in managing others.
  • Strong expertise in contracts management, budgeting, cost control, planning, scheduling, and change management.
  • Knowledgeable across engineering, procurement, and construction execution.
  • Ability to think analytically, conceptually, and adaptively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Available to work in Doha, Qatar from June/July 2023.
