Job description

Great opportunity to work for a highly ambitius international energy company who are in high growth mode, as a Project Accountant / Cost Controller.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Reporting to the Group Head of FP&A, the Project Accountant will have full responsibility for establishing and managing project cost accounting function within the Company, including:
  • Work closely with the finance, procurement and project teams in preparing monthly project costs and project accounting reports
  • Reconciliation of historical activity to cost and work program / budget
  • Preparation of regular cost to complete reports
  • Assist project managers in preparation of project budgets and AFEs

Requirements:

  • A finance , mathematics ,or science focused degree or equivalent qualification (e.g. engineering, economics , business administration)
  • Chartered Accountancy qualification helpful but not essential
  • PRINCE 2 / PMP or equivalent project certification helpful but not essential
  • Over 5 years' experience in a project accounting role with an oil and gas company, renewable energy or other extractive industry
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel and Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge of SAP desirable
  • Good team player, with a strong work ethic, and willing to work at short notice on highly varied tasks and without undue supervision
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lead finance review meetings and challenge forecasts/costs
  • A flexible, hands-on, self-reliant yet co-operative team approach to the role will be essential in meeting the objectives of the Company
