An opportunity exists for an experienced PM to join our site based team in support of a major programme of work for the MoD based in Norfolk. The works comprise the design, planning and construction of new facilities (aircraft hangars, admin and support buildings), utilities and security and extensive airfield infrastructure refurbishment and extensions. The role involves responsibility at a senior project management level providing project and stakeholder management support to the Client side teams. The candidate will be working full-time on-site supporting the delivery of multiple construction contracts on a live military airfield. The PM will work as part of the MOD / existing project/ programme management team comprising PMs and Site Supervisors, with support from internal and external multidisciplinary support teams.

Expected Duration: April 2018 - June 2019

Job Responsibilities:

  • As a Programme Manager you will work as part of the project management team with a developing brief of responsibilities to aid stakeholder management and management of the integration of the multiple work packages;
  • The role will cover the construction phase, including the commissioning & Take Over phases;
  • Each work package has been procured using the MOD's version of the NEC3contract;
  • You will possess the excellent communication skills and construction experience to support the site based team and for developing collaborative relationships with our clients, project and airfield stakeholders and other programme project teams;
  • Ability to work within a partnering environment and form effective working relationships;
  • Commercially and contractually aware;
  • Commitment to a high level of Health & Safety performance at the workplace and in the local environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Good understanding and working knowledge of NEC3 contracts;
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in major construction projects, with a value >£50M;
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills with reference to stakeholder management;
  • Experience of working on MOD / RAF establishments would be an advantage;
  • Experience of working on live civilian/military airfields would be an advantage;
  • Experience in the Project Management of multi-discipline engineering design and construction projects (>£50M Capital Expenditure);
  • Experience of successfully delivering project goals during construction to project handover stage;
  • Strong experience of delivering large technically complex projects;
  • Experienced in a Client management role;
  • Commercially aware, in terms of understanding the key components of Cost and Change Management processes;
  • Experienced in programming the various stages of a project to NEC3, along with monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Academic Qualifications - ideally MSc or MEng Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering, Project management qualification (either academic, professional or both) preferred;
  • Membership of a recognised Construction Industry Professional Body i.e. MRICS, MICE, MCIOB, MAPM or other equivalent institution membership;
  • NEC3 Accredited would be an advantage;
  • Holder of a current CSCS card
  • Security Clearance to SC level will be required.
