Job Description

  • Ensure that all Badila or Mangara Facilities Emergency Response planning is in place and fit for purpose in conjunction with the Field Manager, Production Operations Superintendent, Maintenance Superintendent and HSE Department in accordance with the company ERP.
  • Ensure that all facilities operating procedures and work activity plans include specified process safety management (PSM) guidelines, appropriate Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Risk Assessment and precautionary measures are in compliance with the company permit to work
  • system and procedure, in order to minimize risk to personnel, the environment and company
  • assets.
  • Ensure the maximum availability of plant, equipment and machinery in conjunction with the Maintenance Superintendent and Maintenance Supervisor in order to deliver on the agreed oil production forecast in accordance with the contractual DCQ.
  • Ensure product specification is met in accordance with the JV sales agreement in conjunction with the Operations Production Superintendent, Senior Production Engineer, Senior Instrument Engineer and site Laboratory Service Provider.
  • Provide management with daily reported statistical information regarding the effectiveness and efficiency of the production process streams in terms of oil production, gas production and water production through the use of designated well testing programs as directed by the Senior Production Engineer.
  • Ensure compliance with all mandatory legal requirements and company specific requirements in terms of facilities, plant and equipment condition, performance and availability.
  • Ensure direct interfacing takes place on a daily basis with the maintenance department, production wells support teams, production teams and facilities development teams in a collaborative manner, along with documented daily activity reports in compliance with mandatory operating standards and company requirements.
  • Ensure that agreed department resource development plans are achieved against personnel
  • performance agreements (KPA/ KPI's) in conjunction with company training and human resources departments.
  • Provide collaborative support to process facilities engineering group and the facilities development projects & engineering group and assist where possible with operations production operating/ technical requirements.
  • Ensure adequate interfacing within the operations maintenance department and functional support groups as outlined in operations reference and action plans.
  • Assist the Operations Production Superintendent and Senior Production Engineer and Maintenance Superintendent in the development of production planning and field management/ maintenance plans.
  • In conjunction with the field O & M Planner, assist the Operations Production Superintendent in establishing bridging procedures across functions and planning of maintenance activities,
  • major events, campaign maintenance and scheduled field/ facilities shutdown turnarounds.
  • In conjunction with the field O & M Planner, assist maintenance department teams (Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation/ Controls) with facilities availability and planning of maintenance activities, major events, campaign maintenance and scheduled shutdown turnaround activities in conjunction with plant inspection services and process facilities engineer.

  • Operations Production Superintendent for input into company reporting systems.
  • Provide senior production engineer with validated statistical production and laboratory data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis or as directed in the field operations reference plans.
  • Provide on a quarterly basis; input into the operations reference plan regarding relevant department projected events and major field activities.
  • Maintain active involvement in presenting department status overview with statistical information (health check) at scheduled operations management meetings.
  • Maintain active department involvement, interface and demonstrated commitment to all company HSE related initiatives and planned activities.
  • Act up to the Production Superintendents roll as required.
  • The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the safe and effective management of production operations deliverables at the company's Badila/ Mangara field production facilities in Chad, Africa, including all well site facilities, gathering systems, regional satellite facilities, centralized processing facilities and LACT custody transfer facilities.
  • The position takes responsibility for first line emergency response, control and management within the battery limits of the Badila/ Mangara production facilities; including well sites, gathering systems, manifolds, satellites, CPF, EPF, SPT and LACT Custody transfer facilities.
  • In addition; the role will include the requirement to interface with internal company business facilities and related project teams; (well intervention/ work-over, facilities PSM/ OPI de-bottlenecking and optimization, facilities expansion, work study and development).

The prospect here will be assigned to one of the world's leading integrated producers and marketers of commodities. The oil and gas, E&P HQ is in Central London where they manage upstream investments in oil production. The business has operated and non-operated interests across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Personal Specification

  • Experience in multi discipline multi-national production operations management on onshore upstream hydrocarbon oil & gas processing plant and facilities in a remote environment.
  • Experience in working in a functional environment (shared services or matrix organization) Experience in interfacing and managing contracted service providers.
  • Experience in interfacing with major original equipment manufacturer and vendor service providers. Experience in interfacing with project management teams at site and in an office environment.
  • Experienced and trained in managing Emergency Response Teams in the role of On scene
  • Supervisor or Fire Team Leader.
  • In depth knowledge of Process Safety Management and production operations.
  • In depth knowledge of Industry Standard materials management and control systems. Experience in working in an E&P environment including drilling, completions and well work over.
  • Working knowledge of Industry Standard CMMS and SCM management software. (e.g. MAXIMO, SAP, DATA STREAM, EAM)
  • Must have excellent computer based skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience in departmental budget management and cost control.
  • Experience in the development and training of multi-national workforce in both operations and project based scenarios.
  • A highly competent team leader and communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills. Quick to adapt new and innovative ideas.
  • Proven ability to Coach and mentor production operations personnel.
  • Ability to communicate relevant comprehensive reports to line management
  • Ability to function in a matrix organization structure with managers and peers located in various locations.
  • Demonstrated presentational skills.
