Our client are one of Britain and Ireland's largest wood product suppliers who operate from several sites, a Sawmill and two Combined Heat and Power plants.

Joining one of the Combined Heat and Power plants as part of the Management Team, the Production Manager will be responsible for the co-ordination and control of production activities on site, providing leadership and support to the production teams and managing individual staff performance.

The main focus will be the delivery of the productivity target, whilst initiating continuous improvement in the following areas; quality, plant functionality, value for money from suppliers and contractors, health, safety and environmental performance and team working.

Key skills & Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Analytical capacity to identify and address technical issues/opportunities which can impact upon production and quality
  • An understanding of Total Quality Management
  • Foster a continuous improvement approach, benchmarking internally and externally to track progress
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • Superior communications skills at all levels.
  • Experience in troubleshooting installation, fault finding, and repairs.
