Title: Procurement Supervisor

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3 - 6 months

Rate: £30 p/h

Project: Various - GS EMEA

Location: Leatherhead (could be some travel to site)

Reports to: Procurement Manager

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

To support the Operational Procurement Manager in the delivery of a strategy to co-ordinate best purchasing practice and maximize benefits to the project.

Essential:

  • Confident in use of all Microsoft tools and how to manipulate information and data in Excel.
  • Experience of working within a procurement team with commitment authority to negotiate and award Orders for both products and services
  • SAP/Oracle/similar basic know how
  • CIPS qualified

Experience & Skills:

  • Confident and effective communication skills
  • Articulate with a good attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm & Flexibility
  • Ability to display initiative and work well in a fast paced environment
  • Be honest, conscientious, well presented, highly motivated, with first class interpersonal skills
  • Good team player, also able to work independently
  • Negotiation and relationship management with an active Supply Chain
  • Maintaining best procurement practices
  • Process driven

Core Responsibilities and Duties

  • check validity of requests to purchase, obtaining any additional necessary paperwork and manage any noncompliance requests
  • conducting low value tenders and requests for quotation taking into account whole life costing, sustainability and ethical purchasing
  • liaise with requesters/ departmental contacts to ensure timely resolution of queries
  • liaise with Accounts Payable to resolve supplier payment issues.
  • handle complaints
  • provide status reports to the Operational Procurement Manager on an agreed basis

  • Communication skills - Be articulate and engaging. Demonstrate ability across different styles for example, passionate, empathetic, assertive, reflective etc. Level = Proficient
