Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Procurement Specialist - Maternity Cover, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* To source and purchase materials and services in the most efficient and cost effective method in accordance with company procedures.
* To ensure that a full audit trail is maintained for all procurement transactions.
* To review service requirements and decide as to whether they should be routed for commercial and/or HSEQ risk assessment in accordance with relevant procedures.
* To provide procurement expertise and actively engage with user groups to develop sourcing plans and strategies.
* To manage the RFQ/ITT tendering process from RFQ/ITT development to negotiation and contract award
* To constantly monitor and assess supply source effectiveness and arrange meetings to address problems or issues.
* To formally appraise and measure supplier performance using the FPAL process.
* To identify and recommend suppliers using FPAL as the preferred evaluation route whilst ensuring single sourcing is justified and documented.
* To progress and expedite outstanding orders to achieve agreed delivery dates and ensure that outstanding commitments are accurately reflected on the procurement and supply chain system.
* To proactively identify potential supply agreement opportunities.
* To monitor procurement performance within the company and identify areas for improvement and savings.
* Facilitate resolution of invoice queries with Accounts Payable/Supplier
* To run and provide statistical reports and measurements.
* To act as the point of contact to provide guidance to User Groups on effective procurement and participate in related initiatives

Experience & Qualifications:
* Working towards or achieved degree level in appropriate subject / or CIPS Qualification
* Solid purchasing experience, ideally gained in the Upstream Oil and Gas sector.
* Strong knowledge of procurement and governance processes
* Working knowledge of Logic Terms and Conditions of Purchase and ability to negotiate best contractual position for company
* Working knowledge of the materials supply chain supporting the Upstream Oil and Gas sector
* Awareness of warehousing, materials management and logistics and understanding procurements influence on it.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, - ability to chair and manage meetings.
* Good planning and organisational skills, ability to meet tight deadlines working under pressure handling significant volumes of work.
* Proficient user of PSCM business tools such as Maximo / SAP and power user of Excel / Word.
* Demonstrate ethical and professional behaviours in order to protect company's internal and external reputation.
