Job Role & Responsibilities

The TransPennine Initiative (TPI) is a Network Rail Telecoms trial project which has fibre optic cable installed & from York to Manchester to provide rural broadband services to potential clients. This person will lead the drive for the production and update of processes and procedures to support the TransPennine Initiative Service Model from enquiry, to a service offering and ultimate termination, working with identified decision makers/stakeholders within Network Rail Telecoms


Attending relevant TPI Service Model workstreams/workshops and other relevant TPI meetings

Responsible for targeting completion of processes and procedures against the project plan (timeline)

Hold regular update calls/meetings with stakeholders/their representatives to progress processes and procedures to toward project completion

Responsible for the creation and management or a document library and document register for processes and procedures relevant to the TPI Service Model.

Assist in the production of specific TPI Service Model processes and procedures

Identify process gaps / improvements, and ensure these are mitigated against

Achieve buy-in from all decision makers/stakeholders for the successful implementation of all processes and procedures for the TPI Service Model, in line with the project plan (timeline)

Provide process training and briefing to NRT staff as required

Provide management with status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key responsibilities and objectives. (weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reports)

Support the Project Manager (TPI Productisation) as required, this may include running briefing/training sessions about the TPI Service Model

Educational Professional Qualifications Required

Telecommunications (technical) experience

Proven process management skills (process: writing and improvement)

Proven experience in process improvement, assisting/leading projects with a record of successful implementation (including, briefing and training)

Proven experience in stakeholder management.
