They will need a drive to deliver and be able to specify appropriate design requirements for both current and potential developments at the appropriate level of detail for preliminary and detail design phases.

This plant is essentially a laboratory and testing environment and it would be beneficial to demonstrate familiarity with such plants either within or out with the nuclear arena.

Be able to demonstrate:

* extensive knowledge and experience in delivery of major CAPEX projects for construction with an expertise in one or more specialist areas in their engineering discipline,

* good knowledge of design and construction of similar industrial plants with particular experience of the following:

o Gas Delivery Systems,

o Reagent Delivery Systems,

o DSEAR Assessment,

o Nuclear Analytical Lab Design

o Flowsheets, PFDs, EFDs, SIDDs, Instrument Process Data Sheets, Process Data Sheets

* leadership in engineering function,

* custodian of resources but also self-performance

* a record of successful project scope estimation and delivery, influencing professional engineers, and provision of strategic guidance across a portfolio of projects and programmes.

This role requires a strong and successful interface with the current design team and the engineers must work closely throughout the scoping phase in harmony with all parties to ensure present and future stake holder satisfaction. This will entail understanding and appreciating design decisions by others to date, challenging if appropriate and then estimation of determined technical decision and solutions.

Preliminary phase will last about 2.5 years.

* Experience of and ability to design for manufacture.

* Familiarity with and application of current standards within their own skilled arena and an overarching appreciation of multi-design interactions and interfaces.

* Familiarity with modern CAE packages and interfaces for process plant design and future construction including an appreciation of BIM.

* Evidence of design capability working as part of a multi-discipline team.

* Confidence and demonstrable capability to be able to work with minimal supervision to meet end outcomes or clearly and defined targets and engage with and challenge all parties.
