Process Engineer - Control Systems (Pharmaceuticals)

The Orion Group are currently recruiting for a Process Engineer with control system experience in the area of Pharmaceuticals/Biotechnology.

The initial contract will be for 12 months' but has an overall expected duration of 3 to 5 years'.

The Role:

  • Manage project activities within the project team ensuring project objectives and deliverables are met
  • Participate among cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to required quality standards
  • Produce and manage the project strategy ensuring agreed objectives can be met
  • Vendor management
  • Monitor activity progress for the project in line with the project objectives, deliverables and timelines and report potential delays including mitigation recommendations
  • Manage the project Risk Log ensuring all identified risks have been mitigated
  • Provide project reports on a regular basis for effective communication
  • Provide support for product costing and financial assessment of the project
  • Monitor project expenses in line with the approved project budget
  • Ensure smooth transfer of project knowledge and technology from engineering to production
  • Ensures all activities, equipment and facilities comply with site cGMP, Health, Safety and Environmental policies
  • Other areas the role will encompass include: -
      • Scope development and approval
      • Scope change management
      • Risk management
      • URS generation
      • Tender package generation
      • Procurement
      • Detailed design
      • Installation
      • Executing, and reviewing commissioning protocols

Key Competencies:

  • A degree in science, chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of GAMP5, 21CFR Part 11, CSV Project Life Cycle
  • Knowledge of control system network architectures including PCS7 hardware and other PLC/SCADA hardware design
  • Knowledge of vendor skid packages PLC interfacing with Delta V system and commissioning of these systems
  • Knowledge of instrument specifications, control system specifications, environmental monitoring system specifications, package equipment control system and integration specifications.
