Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Process Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* To provide Process Engineering and Operational support to company FPSO Operations
* Ensure all operations/process related support issues are addressed, and technical support is provided to the FPSO operations teams on and offshore
* Develop/review relevant Operations and Maintenance procedures for use by the asset
* Own and coordinate regular meetings relating to operations and production support, ensuring actions support production delivery objectives and vendors and suppliers comply with company standards
* Performance monitoring of production plant and associated mechanical control systems/equipment, ensuring that appropriate programmes are developed to support Plant Optimisation longer term
* Actively contribute to incident investigations via Synergi and 'Tripbuster' forums, review and endorse closure of retrospective actions that have been raised
* Perform and check process design calculations and process simulations to help troubleshoot and optimise ongoing production operations
* Manage the unit loss reporting process ensuring that all production losses are recorded and investigated with appropriate remedial action recommendations clearly submitted to the asset management team
* Propels high safety acumen with regards to FPSO facility daily operations. Lead and participate in a proactive safety performance and KPl's
* Carry out offshore site visits to ensure full understanding of any project related matters, support the offshore team on process activities and troubleshooting and communicating progress
* Provide input to operational and shutdown plans. Provide direction, input and monitoring of production regarding execution and timely resolution of issues which may impair operational uptime / production efficiency
* Provide input to the development of the operating budgets which are realistic, efficient and will fulfil business needs, and manage expenditure for all work scopes within the limits of agreed budgets
* Review and provide engineering solutions for Technical Query and Management of Change Requests as per procedure
* Provide operational support to modifications or projects, ensuring all plant modifications fully comply with Management of Change (MOC) procedures, Company Specifications, Standards and Procedures and expectations and are fully assessed and approved
* Act as primary focal point for Process TA support, ensuring input to engineering design assurance activities such as HAZID/HAZOP/ Risk Assessments as necessary and endorse closure of all associated actions

Experience & Qualifications:
* UK, IChemE accredited degree is desirable
* Experience in Upstream Oil and Gas is desirable
* Having already worked in an Operations based role before
* Having completed some technical training, specific to upstream oil and gas operations, is also desirable
* Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent), as well as relevant engineering experience either on or offshore in an associated organisation
* Experience in a similar Process Engineering role
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartered status with IChemE or other engineering institute
* Demonstrate skills in Mechanical and Production equipment engineering problem solving, particularly with sound knowledge of modern microprocessor-based control and shutdown systems
* Demonstrable experience including time spent in an on/offshore environment with an operator or operations contractor
* Sound IT skills (Microsoft packages) and knowledge/use of PI and HYSYS/Unisim
* Ability to work as a member or leader of a team and good interpersonal skills allowing to communicate effectively with onshore and offshore staff at all levels
* An awareness of budgetary control and the ability to deliver tasks to program and cost targets
* Strong analytical capabilities
* Knowledge of business and operational planning processes
