Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Principal Structural Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities will include:

In coordination with mechanical and piping /layout engineers, develop structural solutions for subsea structures including manifolds, SSIVs, Tie in structures

Delivery of high quality structural study deliverables including drawings, design reports, specifications and calculations in accordance with industry , client and Genesis standards

Interpret and implement local and international design codes and practices to comply with local and international laws, as applicable

Provide technical reports and assist preparing management reports

Provide support and input to a wide range of greenfield and brownfield multi-discipline in house development studies

Carry out appropriate single discipline and inter-discipline checks and reviews on engineering and design work

Participate in design reviews and technical impact assessments / reviews

Deliver presentations to clients as required

Provide assistance to procurement department in the qualification of suppliers / subcontractors

Qualifications & Experience

Civil/structural engineering /mechanical engineering/naval architecture qualification to degree level

Extensive engineering experience with significant oil and gas industry experience

Effective communicator used to work with a small discipline team

Previous experience of working as a part of a multi-discipline team on subsea facilities engineering projects

Proficient in the use of structural software: Staad Pro, FS2000 or SACS.

Proven experience in developing civil/ structural solutions for greenfield and brownfield project environments, incorporating installation and constructability assessments

Proven experience in the design of subsea structures including manifolds, SSIVs, Tie-in structures, inline structures and protection structures

Competence in the development of cost and schedule estimates for civil/ structural works

Proficient in use of computer based (Mathcad or Excel) analytical calculations for structural detailed design
