Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Principal / Senior Electrical Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities will include:
Resolve technical queries and ensure the resolution is satisfactory and ensure that all design changes are captured by the change control process
Conduct site surveys
Produce calculations required and participate in design reviews and check and approve discipline documents also to check interdisciplinary documents where necessary
Producing documentation deliverables for inclusion in workpacks, and or, design books on time to meet project deadlines for assigned packages and scopes of work
Responsible to a lead engineer for a number of other engineering personnel to ensure workscope delivery and ensure the technical quality of work discipline team assigned to the scope of work;
Provide input to project planning as part of the project team for achieving the target and completion within the budget and schedule; ensuring that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with Asset priorities and schedules as set out in the project plan.
Plan, budget and coordinate resources, contribute to the development of plans, schedules and estimates for the individual workscopes. Preparation of engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary.
Review and report job progress and cost reports regarding engineering activities
Identification of increase or reduction in scope and assist in raising the necessary support documents for Project Control Purposes

Specialist Discipline Skills Required
Specifying modifications to existing equipment or purchasing new equipment including but not limited to:
- HV/LV switchgear
- HV/LV electrical drives
- Variable speed drives and thyristor controls
- UPS systems
- Power generation and distribution
- Power system studies and electrical protection
- Other associated electrical equipment with the Oil and Gas industry

Qualifications and Experience
Hold an engineering degree in a relevant engineering discipline and is a Chartered Engineer with sufficient post-graduate experience. A reasonable level of the experience should be in a relevant theatre of operation. Previous supervisory experience preferable.
Hold an HND in a relevant engineering discipline and working towards Chartered Status with sufficient post-graduate experience in the respective discipline. A sufficient level of the experience should be in a relevant theatre of operation. Previous supervisory experience essential.
