Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Principal Piping Engineer (Subsea), based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities will include:
Provide leadership within discipline in the delivery of subsea projects.
Contribute to the development of team members.
Contribute to the technology development of the team.
Work closely and liaise with other disciplines in multidiscipline projects.
Represent the company at meetings.
Contribute towards bids and tenders.
Undertake and check design calculations related to subsea pipework integrity.
Write and check project deliverables.
Work efficiently within the allocated man-hours and scheduled time frames.
Perform all reasonable job tasks required by line manager

Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Essential
Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas Subsea Engineering industry particularly undertaking detailed design of subsea piping systems and rigid tie in spools.
Knowledge of industry design codes and standards including PD8010-2, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, DNV-OS-F101 and DNV-RP-F112. Ability to work effectively within the requirements of these design codes and client specifications.
Experienced in general subsea piping layout requirements.
Experience in subsea piping stress analysis utilising AutoPIPE, CAESAR or similar software packages and supplementary manual calculations. Experience in related subject matters including pipework flexibility assessments, HISC, erosion, VIV, FIV, slugging analysis and fatigue related issued.
Knowledge of subsea piping components and hardware including flanges, valves, buttwelded fittings, studbolts and gaskets. Working knowledge of the associated design codes including API 6A, API 17D, ASME B16.5, ISO 27059, ASME B16.9 and ISO 14723.
Excellent communication skills.
Good computer literacy with particular competence in MS office software.
Competent in the use of MathCAD.
Ability to estimate man-hours for piping related tasks to support bids and tenders.

Preferred:
Experience of Field Architecture and Greenfield Development concepts and methodologies.
Experience of working on study projects and contributing to FEEDs, Options reviews etc.
Knowledge of cathodic protection and coating considerations.
Experience with FS2000.
Experience with Abaqus FE.
Experience in rigid riser analysis.
Awareness of material selection requirements for subsea piping applications.
Experience or awareness of subsea pipeline design activities.
