Job description

Purpose Statement

* Is the subject matter expert for their discipline. * Owns the competencies and delivers the discipline strategy across all assets. Sets the standard and oversees the skills and capability of the discipline skill pool. * Ensures Spirit Energy's standards and policies comply with industry and national regulation and best practice.

Role Deliverables and Responsibilities

* Lead implementation of new or amended discipline standards, processes, procedures and tools to relevant personnel. Liaise with external bodies as needed to ensure SE is aligned with regulations and standards and how they are applied * Responsible for the identification, development and maintenance of the standards / procedures for their discipline. * Owns the competencies and delivers the discipline strategy: act as leader for the discipline skill pool, developing and implementing a consistent competency framework for the purpose of career development and performance management * Works with the Team Leader to ensure competency and required resources are within the team for all assets, in line with asset strategies. * Partners with the Team Leader on people leadership including through technical performance management and people development - i.e. leading the discipline practice; leading the change/consistency needed in how things work / get done - working with the assets to bring about that change o Act as coach to discipline members to ensure their learning and technical development * When required, provides objective and technical input to any complex engineering issues or threats across the operated assets * DOA for Team Leader as needed.

Key Technical Skills

▪ Expert working knowledge and application of relevant UK & NL oil and gas industry regulations, industry and national standards, for their discipline. ▪ Experience of writing standards and procedures for oil and gas industry ▪ Knowledge of and ability to use forms of engineering documentation, for example P&IDS and single line diagrams. ▪ Ability to resolve complex problems and drives innovative solutions. ▪ Demonstrate an expert understanding of engineering principles and practical application. ▪ Ability to interact effectively at all levels and encourage teams across core crew and subcontractors. ▪ Maintain and continue to develop the competencies necessary to carry out the role to the required standard whilst in position. ▪ Conducts all activities in a safe and effective manner and raises safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy.

Education

▪ Discipline Engineering degree ▪ Chartership required.

Work Experience

▪ Significant relevant experience in the oil and gas or process industries ▪ Preferably has demonstrated experience of providing engineering support to frontline operations in an oil and gas or chemicals manufacturing (top tier COMAH).

Mandatory Training required

▪ All Spirit Energy mandatory training as requested, including Compliance training usually provided annually.
