Job description

Our client currently has an opportunity for a Principal Engineer to join their world class Integrity Management Business unit, based within their Production and Integrity Assurance segment.

  • As a minimum a degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline, preferably corrosion or materials related. Additional professional qualifications (e.g. CEng, FICorr, NACE specialists) are beneficial.
  • Demonstrable experience in carrying out significant materials adequacy and corrosion risk assessments, as well as asset integrity management and RBI studies.
  • Experience in use and implementation of AIMS / IDMS / RBI software systems.
  • Experience of materials, corrosion, and asset integrity issues across a range of process industries.
  • A sound knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals / alloys, with an understanding of different manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • A good grasp of process chemistry issues, including sampling and analytical requirements.
  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Communication skills to lead, motivate and develop both staff and client relationships, as well as to coordinate work, with the ability to adapt communication style to the audience.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Willing to be "hands on", working at all required levels (e.g. basic laboratory activities to detailed reporting and complex analysis techniques).
  • A positive attitude, with good problem identification and solving skills.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English, and able to demonstrate excellent report writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly proficient in computer programs such as MS Office.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, and willingness to travel to & attend client sites.
