Job Description

  • Safety - Conducts all activities in a safe and effective manner and raises safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy

  • Financial - Carries out duties in a way that maximises value and minimises waste and risk.

  • Capital Management
  • Co-ordination and review of Decision Support Packages to support Project Approval requests
  • Ensuring compliance with Corporate Capital Management Policy
  • Ensuring process and timelines adhered to in order to implement timely project approvals
  • Woking pro-actively to continually enhance the process
  • Support the Work Programme and Budget and Strategic Planning process
  • Help with co-ordination and preparation of the annual Work Programme & Budget and Strategic Plan
  • Prepare presentations and insightful analyses.
  • Long-term Integrated Planning - Work with Operations planning team to co-ordinate and prepare Long term integrated activity plan
  • UK Scorecard - assist in development of UK scorecard and tracking of progress against key metrics.
  • Provide support for other UK Planning activities including Monthly KPI reporting, Rig Line planning, periodic industry surveys (eg for DECC), etc.
  • Pro-actively implement process improvements.
  • Perform other ad-hoc activities and business analyses as required to support the Planning and Portfolio Manager
  • Collaboration - Collaborates with others in the team and looks for opportunities to leverage their network and work with others to develop safe, practical and effective solutions
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation - Continuously develops ways of working by seeking feedback from colleagues and key stakeholders. Complies with Nexen project management disciplines, effectively utilises knowledge databases and actively participates in project reviews
  • Capability Development - Looks for opportunities to develop technical and personal skills both by formal learning interventions and work experience. Coaches team colleagues where appropriate and demonstrates a personal commitment to lifelong learning
  • People Processes - Engages with people processes in a positive and timely manner. Demonstrates a commitment to the spirit of such processes.

Personal Specification

  • Have you have experience in working for an Oil Operator in Oil and Gas industry?
  • Do you have CIMA/ACCA qualification?
  • Do you have Business Analyst experience(Budgeting and Forecasting /Strategic Planning/ Joint Venture Accounting)?
  • If you have answered yes to these questions we are looking forward to receiving your applications.
  • Accounting or Finance Qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant)
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Current & relevant industry knowledge and experience acquired in an upstream oil and gas company.
  • Excellent communication skills (both interpersonal and written)
  • Confident dealing with colleagues at all levels of the organisation including senior
  • management.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience of working cross functionally and with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proactive and have the ability to work to tight deadlines and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to self-manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong Team Player
  • Displays honesty, integrity and a strong sense of ethics in all decision and actions.
