Responsibilities/Job Description:

As a Planner/Scheduler, you will be expected to perform duties pertaining to working with maintenance planning, scheduling, and material procurement using an integrated management system (SAP PM, MM, CO), and Company policies, procedures and processes.

Responsibilities at the Technical Planner/Scheduler level include:

  • Perform on-site work scoping and estimating for routine and non-routine maintenance activities for the geographic planning area to ensure accuracy of the Work Package - will include travel to work sites.
  • Develop and revise Work Packages for routine and non-routine maintenance activities for the geographic planning area to ensure we perform work safely and cost effectively. Including high-risk or complex jobs
  • Develop and revise Long Range Work Plans, Performing Work Lists, Planning Priority Lists and Work Schedules for the geographic planning area to ensure we perform work that is properly planned and ready to execute.
  • Perform duties as per SAP PM training material:
    • Review new notifications, create into orders, and set dates accordingly.
    • Review newly generated IPDMs and schedule appropriately.
    • Manage notification and order statuses as required.
    • Validate and confirm the accuracy of equipment data within SAP (e.g. bill of materials, maintenance strategy plans, equipment specifications etc).
    • Create standard task lists for repetitive equipment maintenance activities.
    • Liaise with Operations, Maintenance and Ops Engineering to develop and review planning documents.
    • Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of planning, scheduling, inventory, procurement and SAP to all stakeholders.
    • Analyze and improve the effectiveness of Work Packages.
    • Analyze, recommend and assist in implementing improvements to facility performance and equipment maintenance strategies.
    • Generate various facility and maintenance reports (e.g. backlog, delinquent PM's, schedule compliance, manpower availability, planning accuracy).
    • Assist in turnaround planning and scheduling as required.

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 - 5 years work experience in an industrial environment or 2 years working experience as a Planner/Scheduler
  • Well developed computer literacy and skills (MS Office)
  • Good analytical skills
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound decision making skills
  • Well developed organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma or Trades certificate, or Engineering degree; other combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered
  • 7 years work experience in and industrial environment or 3 years working experience as a Technical Planner/Scheduler
  • Training and competency in:
    • advanced job scoping & estimating
    • advanced maintenance planning & scheduling
    • SAP PM Notification and Work Order
    • Planning and Scheduling
  • Proven contributor to team environment.
  • Sound maintenance planning, scheduling and procurement philosophies
  • Can perform and explain appropriate SAP business roles
  • Training in:
    • data analysis management (statistical, data, trending analyses, performance evaluations and risk analysis)
    • root cause failure analysis
    • maintenance reliability
    • advanced shutdown/turnaround management and planning
    • project management
    • gas processing levels I, II and III
  • Demonstrated self starter
  • Facilitation skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
  • Able to carry out daily duties with minimal supervision and support
