Orion are looking for Operators and CDL Equipment Operators with their Hazmat endorsement and TWIC card in Hubbard, Ohio.

They will be hired to contract with a major oil field service company, this division works primarily on and around pipelines doing hydro-testing, leak testing, nitrogen work and pipeline pre-commissioning.

The CDL equipment operators will be responsible for pre-trip equipment checking, loading up of equipment in the company yard, and then driving the CMV vehicles from the yard out to the specific job site. From there the equipment will need to be rigged up, using large 2-inch hoses, ensuring all connections etc are secure before the operation can begin.


The operation is running of pumps, compressors and checking that the equipment remains within the specified temperatures and pressure. Jobs can last anywhere from a few days through to 3-4 weeks in duration. During this time you will be working 12 hour shifts, with half and hour each side for hand over. So when on a project you can expect 91 hours of paid work a week, 40 hours of regular, and then 51 of OT

Once the project is finished you will be responsible for the rigging down of the equipment, packing up and then driving the equipment back to the yard.

All of this is in line with all DOT regulations including:

  • Pre-trip inspection
  • Post-trip inspection
  • DVIR
  • Complete Driver Logs in line with FMCSA regulations
  • Bill of loading
  • Journey Management
