The Orion Group are seeking a Pharmacist to work with our multinational healthcare client in one of their distribution centres in Norfolk.

The role is an initial 12 month contract, but would be expected to be extended beyond this, if someone was performing well in the role.

The Role:

This role will involve the dispensing of prescriptions for specialist therapies for patients at home. Additional duties will involve ensuring adherence GPhC and RPS standards for homecare. Admin including prescription management and organization of the pharmacy.

Duties:

  • Responsible Pharmacist and management of locum pharmacists for holiday cover
  • Prescription receipt, clinical screening and intervention where needed
  • Small volume/large volume product order entry
  • Prescription product order assembly/dispensing
  • Stock receipt and stock control of compounded product
  • Prescription management
  • Liaison with other client pharmacies to provide a timely homecare service
  • Delivery scheduling
  • Training of staff including pharmacists and NVQ courses for technicians
  • On call requirement/out of hours emergency dispensing
  • QA release of compounded product

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate dispensing - this will include timely reporting of near misses and dispensing errors
  • Adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Safe and effective working environment of pharmacy in line with GPhC standards
  • Compliance with legal and regulatory responsibilities
  • Appropriate storage of all pharmacy products
  • Reporting service issues using appropriate form
  • Reporting to QA product complaints or PV adverse events
  • Training of staff

Requirements:

  • The person must be a registered pharmacist with the GPhC
  • Good/sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, mainly Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Full driving licence
