Performance Analyst - Solar PV

We have an exciting opportunity for a Performance Analyst - Solar with our client a market leader in renewable energy, managing the development, design, construction, maintenance, and market optimisation of large-scale projects across the UK, and more recently in Europe.

This is a permanent staff position based in Reading although the client is open to flexible working options.

Due to our phenomenal growth, we are seeking a Performance Analyst, to join our client's expanding Operations and Maintenance business. The performance team actively monitors a portfolio of 1.3GW of solar assets across the UK and Europe. You will primarily be responsible for the daily monitoring service, which ensures faults and underperformance of assets are identified rapidly, triaged, and passed to relevant members of the broader O&M team for rectification. The Performance Team is also responsible for a broad range of asset performance reporting for both internal and external consumption.

Key Accountabilities

 Proactively identify faults and asset underperformance through SCADA systems data, such as voltage, current, temperature, power factor, and fault codes analysis, and advise the engineer on the diagnostic steps.
 Be able to analyse raw data against contractual obligations and our customer's needs.
 Propose solutions to resolve issues flagged by analysis.
 Support on-site engineers from the office to resolve performance issues. Managing repairs promptly.
 Working within the wider portfolio team to ensure contractual obligations and performance targets are met.
 Compilation and distribution of asset performance data to both management and clients in the form of official reports, in line with internal and external deadlines.
 Perform analysis to identify root causes and actionable issues on sites (e.g., desktop string tests), underperformance reporting, and analysis.
 Perform the contractual performance calculations between the Performance Analyst and Client Portfolio team.
 Liaising with network operators, third-party contractors, and technical support teams.
 Prioritising faults within engineer schedules and following up on all faults that haven't been rectified on the first visit
 Maintaining and developing management tools and databases for accurate record keeping.


Required Skills & Experience

 Desirable: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar.
 Desirable: Previous work experience in a similar role.
 High level of attention to detail.
 Ability to identify discrepancies in various forms of data.
 A passion for renewable technologies would be a distinct advantage but it's not essential.
 You will also be highly competent in both Microsoft Office, notably Excel and Word.
 Ability to work alone or in a team.
 Proactive problem-solver who independently identifies improvement opportunities and seeks to act on them.
